PRODUCTION METHOD AND COATING DEVICE FOR COATING-LIQUID-IMPREGNATED SHEET-LIKE REINFORCING-FIBER BUNDLE AND SHEET-LIKE INTEGRATED OBJECT

The present invention relates to a production method for a coating-liquid-impregnated sheet-like reinforcing-fiber bundle that is formed by applying a coating liquid to a sheet-like reinforcing-fiber bundle in which continuous reinforcing fibers that are long in one direction have been arranged in the one direction. The present invention addresses the problem of providing a production method and a coating device for the coating-liquid-impregnated sheet-like reinforcing-fiber bundle, wherein continuous travel can be achieved without clogs being caused by any generated nap, even at high travel speeds, and the sheet-like reinforcing-fiber bundle can be efficiently impregnated with the coating liquid. The present invention is a production method for a coating-liquid-impregnated sheet-like reinforcing-fiber bundle (1b), wherein a sheet-like reinforcing-fiber bundle (1a) in which reinforcing fibers (1) have been arranged in one direction is passed, substantially vertically, through the inside of a coating part (20) that holds a coating liquid (2), and the coating liquid (2) is applied to the sheet-like reinforcing-fiber bundle (1a). The coating part (20) comprises a liquid reservoir part and a narrow part that communicate with each other. The cross-sectional area of a portion of the liquid reservoir part decreases continuously in the travel direction of the sheet-like reinforcing-fiber bundle (1a). In cross-section, the narrow part is slit-shaped, and the cross-sectional area of the narrow part is smaller than that of an upper surface of the liquid reservoir part.
